The Daddy Chain

When trying to figure out the best way to help my 2 1/2 year old daughter understand the concept of time and the many days daddy would be gone while on his deployment, I remembered back to when I was child and what it was I would do to count-down the days to when something exciting would happen; we call it "The Daddy Chain"

There is a link on the chain for every day my husband is gone, and every night before bed we take a link off The Daddy Chain and Addie throws it away. It is always something to look forward to at night, and it is such a feeling of relief and accomplishment, to everyday take off a link and know we made it through that day and we are just one day closer to when we will all be together again.

Every night, as Addie walks to the trash can to throw away that day's chain, she says the same thing, "Yay, Daddy is coming home!"

We are more than half-way done with the deployment and everyday the chain gets shorter and shorter, such an amazing feeling.

The Dixon's - Maternity

We love Spokane, the city is lovely, the people are wonderful, and at the current moment it seems that more than half the population is pregnant!

In our short time in Spokane, we have had the honor of befriending a lovely couple, Mike & Evah Dixon. The Dixon's, like most the population, are pregnant. Evah is at the point, she is very ready to not be pregnant any longer. In an attempt to help make these last few weeks a little more enjoyable before baby Natalie is born, we all got together and did a maternity photo shoot. It was the most fun I've had taking pictures of people. They are so cute and in love, Mike is the ultimate joke-ster, as you can see from the many silly images, and they were BOTH so willing to do anything to make the shoot fun and even a tad bit risque.

Mr. & Mrs. Wade - August 7th, 2010

I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Austin and Miranda Wade on August 7th, 2010, in beautiful Mt. Shasta, California. They are the cutest, most in love couple. Just the way they look at each other, it makes your heart go pitter patter just to watch as you can feel the love just overflow and everything else in the world just seems to disappear for that moment.
